This Week's Concert
Sunday, June 23, 2024
Note from the webmaster:  We update this web site at least once a week during our summer concert season.  Since the program for each Sunday concert is finalized at our rehearsal on Monday evening, we generally post the week's update sometime on Tuesday.  Unfortunately, if you are viewing this page on a summer Monday, what follows will undoubtedly be the information for YESTERDAY'S concert.
For those specifically SEEKING web pages from past concerts, our recent concert archives are now available online.

Adam Creager
The 4th summer concert of the Burlington Municipal Band will be conducted by Adam Creager.  Adam is the band director at Mt. Pleasant's Middle School.  When not conducting he plays saxophone in the band - usually the baritone sax.   He is a member of the the Southeast Iowa Band, the Burlington Area Saxophone Quartet, and plays piano with the Bullis-Rutter Big Band.
Adam always picks interesting music and this concert's selections are no exception.  Adam's "theme" for the concert is "Interesting pairings" - he's chosen pairs of pieces that are connected in interesting and sometimes unexpected ways.  His selections will include Jupiter by Jan Van der Roost; Through the Storm by Jarod Hall; After the Storm by Jonathan McBride; The Midwest Old Threshers March by Jim DePriest; The Country Club Stomp by Jarod Hall; Fragile, by Randall D. Stonebridge, Blue Sky Horizon by Randall D. Stonebridge; Selections from Chicago by John Kander, arranged by Ted Ricketts, including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, Roxie, and We Both Reached for the GunPop and Rock Legends: Chicago arranged by John Wasson including Make Me Smile, Saturday in the Park, Does Anybody Really Know What Time it Is?, and 25 or 6 to 4; and the band's traditional closing selection, The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
